Tips to help you increase audience engagement on social media: Part 1



Social media is fast paced & there is constant change, be it the content or the audience.

Marketers, bloggers and influencers need to not only keep up with these changes but need to be a step ahead at all times and effect impactful and successful strategies to stimulate return on interest.

Sometimes we all need a little help when there is a lack of creativity and inspiration, perhaps you just don’t have the time to do the research or maybe you are just getting started on social media and need some direction. I’ve compiled a few different ways that interest and engagement can be generated and leveraged off different social media platforms.


  • INTERESTING FACTS Give your audience an interesting fact about something either related to your business or to them. It could even be totally random! This will show them that you are not only interested in selling your product/brand to them, but that you want to have a two-way conversation by offering them something useful to them without asking for anything in return.


  • LOYALTY REWARDS LOYALTY Offering rewards exclusively to followers, loyalty members or newsletter subscribers will in turn be rewarded with stronger brand loyalty. Your audience needs to feel loved and cared for and offering especially exclusives like discounts or vouchers will leave them feeling favoured- and we all want to be the favourite!


  • BEHIND THE SCENES Your audience really wants to feel connected and part of a family. Sharing behind the scenes is a way of “getting personal” and allowing them into a space otherwise unseen. This will form a stronger relationship between the brand and your audience as well as show your followers just how much work and effort OR fun goes into the final product of your brand or service.


  • SEASONAL CONTENT/OFFERS Your audience really wants to feel connected and part of a family. Sharing behind the scenes is a way of “getting personal” and allowing them into a space otherwise unseen. This will form a stronger relationship between the brand and your audience as well as show your followers just how much work and effort OR fun goes into the final product of your brand or service.


  • COMPETITIONS If there is one effort that works really well on any social media and give you more ROI than anything it will be competitions. The bigger the prize or stake, the better your engagement. The trick is to remember to focus on what will really make either yourself or your audience stop what they're doing and take time out of their busy day to engage with and enter your competition.
