People, myself included, often say "my goal is to be successful". No! That is a wish, and you need to set goals to make that wish come true... and successful in what by the way? There are many definition of success and you can succeed at various things- some that will make you happy and some that won't. You need to succeed at what makes you happy and you need to set goals along the way to get there.
DEFINE AND ACHIEVE.
Recently, I've been finding myself not really stuck in a rut so much as going in circles. I feel like I'm chasing my own tail and that is largely due to lack of direction. The ambition, motivation and determination are there, but I don't know which way to go. I'm so guilty of saying "I wish I could do this" or "I wish I could be that" and then I find myself scrambling in all directions, trying to realize my dreams and wishes and becoming exhausted in the process because I'm really going nowhere fast- which leads me to either give up completely or concede to the idea that perhaps it's not meant for me and that my path travels elsewhere. How many times have you said been in the "it's not for me" boat? I've been there about a million and one times until I realized that it really isn't that way at all!
There's no such thing!
I've recently discovered the key to success and it pretty straight forward. GOALS.
I've got a million things that I want to do and succeed at but I've got no direction. So what am I going to do? Create some goals in order for me to achieve my vision. Think of goals as as stepping stones on your path through a dense forest. There are many distractions surrounding you but your goals will always show you a clear path forward. Each goal that I complete is a step closer to my dream, vision and the reality I want to create for myself.
When setting goals I have to first have a vision. Something I want to work toward. Thereafter I'll have to do some really deep introspection as to what I can and need to do to achieve my vision. Then I set goals- tasks that I can do that will help me get closer to my success.
Goals are tasks, and as such they need action. This also means that you have daily goals, weekly goals, monthly and yearly goals. Once you set these, you're on your path to success.
Once I set mine, I'll share them with you and we can travel this journey together. Each person's success is unique to them and dependent on their actions. You can be your own success story!
PS: You're putty perfect ;)
